No experience of either though, so can't coment on dexterity issues MultiECUScan is good! Just a word of advice. Unless you plan to use it on a number of cars in a workshop environment then the fully multiplexed and epxensice package using the CANtieCAR interface is very expensive for normal DIY diagnostic work.
For DIY and even small independent garage then the ELM interface and adaptor cable set is far cheaper and does the same functions although a little more clumsily. On the Croma the free version will do most of the engine ECU functions. Only notable exception as far as I recall is the "oil change reset". Regarding hardware purchase then I would strongly recommend getting the hardware from one of the listed official distributors. For the UK the Gendan. Not sure where you've got the 1 year thing from. All depends on when you originally purchased a license. Basically those of us that invested in Yani's software in the early days and help it to develop and mature are supported for life. Newcomers have new annual license agreements.
